All students are warmly invited to meet the Her.Tietz initiative, a Hertie School alumni and student group. Our initiative argues for a more open handling of the “aryanization” of the Hermann Tietz company and the anti-Semitic repressions against the Tietz family. Furthermore, Her.Tietz wants to address the growing antisemitism in today’s societies. We would be excited to have you join our online meeting on the 10th of September, at 4 pm CET via Zoom with members of the core team of the Her.Tietz initiative and guest historian, Christoph Kreutzmueller. We hope to answer any questions you may have and invite you to join our discussion about strengthening the commemoration culture within the Hertie School community.
Christoph Kreutzmueller (House of the Wannsee Conference, Berlin) studied History and English in Berlin and in the UK. After finishing his dissertation on German banks in the Netherlands (1919-1945) he coordinated an extensive research project on the fate of Jewish owned businesses in Berlin 1930-1945 at the Humboldt University (Berlin) and worked as curator of the new permanent exhibition in the Jewish Museum Berlin.
His publications include: (with Tal Bruttmann and Stefan Hördler), Die Inszenierung des
Verbrechens. Ein Fotoalbum aus Auschwitz, Darmstadt (Wissenschaftliche
Buchgesellschaft) 2018; (with Julia Werner), Fixiert. Fotografische Quellen zur
Verfolgung und Ermordung der Juden in Europa. Eine pädagogische Handreichung, Bonn
(Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung) 2016; Final Sale in Berlin. The destruction of
Jewish commercial activity 1930-1945, New York/Oxford 2015
